Bosch Top Handle Jig Saw (Late model)

When it comes to Jigsaws, few compare to Bosch. Now to be completely honest with you I have owned quite a few Bosch tools and few have really impressed me. In fact about 11-12 years ago I owned a Bosch cordless tool kit that completely let me down. However that having been said.... when it comes to Jig saws Bosch is the Cadillac. (Festool is the Ferrari) Yes I know I am reviewing a late model, but little has changed over the years. The ergonomics on this saw are great. No matter what size your hands are you will like this saw. The quick change on the blade is simply a joy. I used to hate losing my Allen key all the time on other models. This saw has plenty of power to to cut through almost anything in its path. With the adjustable orbit and guide roller I have cut as big as 3/8” diamond plate steel, and as fine as coped crown molding. Yes you read that right... I use this saw on a regular basis to cope molding. And it doesn’t look like a hack job, it holds a nice tight clean edge pattern. Of course all depending on your blade choice. One of the biggest issues most jigsaws have is dust build up in front of the blade and loss of line vision. Bosch took care of this by adding a three stage blower on the front that keeps you clear. This works most of the time, but when cutting PT I do notice some build up. Another great feature is the ability to insert the blade sideways. This allows for tight cutting in difficult corners. So while no tool is perfect, Bosch came pretty close with this one. Whether you are a DIY’er or a master carpenter I am confident that you will like this classic.
