Fiskars 20oz 15in milled face hammer with Isocore™️ technology

At first glance this hammer looks futuristic. The black coated steel and the rubber isocore gave it an almost alien feel. My initial thought on this hammer was how hard could you really hit with it? In the past I have stayed far away from the multi piece hammers. Even though hickory has a great feel and was the original vibration reduction, I have never been a fan of hammers with removable parts. My go to all my life has always been Estwing. Technology changes though and times change. Some of the best hammers in the world are modular. While not a true modular hammer the Fiskars is comprised of multiple parts. It has one part that eased my mind was that the head and shaft were all one continuous piece. This means you shouldn’t have to worry about the Head flying off and nailing your partner in the teeth. Where it becomes multi piece is in the handle. Fiskars uses their isocore™️technology. The start of the hammer is set inside a layer of rubber and then in their polymer handle which is finally wrapped in a gummy grip. I will say that this hammer does an excellent job of reducing vibration. It has a nice balance and makes a solid impact. I do wish they had used more of the newer weight amplification design that several other manufacturers are using. I feel like some of my 17oz hammers pack the same punch without weighing as much. Also the grip looks smudged and dirty almost as soon as you pick it up. The orange somewhat tacky grip seems to collect dirt and grease. All in all though this is a great hammer and well worth the investment. Your wrist, elbows and shoulders will all thank you for ditching your old hammer and going with vibration reduction. And the new line of Isocore™️ from Fiskars is a great place to start. Both DIYers and pros will find this to be a great add to their bag.
